Abstract
The influence of relaxation and creep for silo design and prediction of a reasonable and reliable outlet dimension for trouble‐free flow of bulk solids are presented. The use of silo centrifuge testing was chosen to reduce the model silo size and to decrease the needed amount of bulk solids. Experiments with limestone of 25 μm particle size showed good agreement between silo centrifuge testing and silo design according to Jenike method. The creeping effects could successfully demonstrated with moist gypsum with the silo centrifuge technique.
