Abstract
Maintaining the voltage limits at consumer level within the tolerable ranges for all loading conditions is the function of Volt/Var control strategy. By coordinating with reactive power control devices and voltage regulating devices it maintains the suitable range of voltage. Due to modernization of grid new challenges are arise and to overcome those challenges we, must go with the new methodologies. In this article, the main point is evaluating the effectiveness of Volt/Var control (VVC) strategies in distribution systems has been presented. The primary purpose of this section is to have a comprehensive set of available performance measures for Volt-Var Control. Furthermore, the new power flow-based methodology is developed for estimating the metrics under consideration. A research model on such a given VVC strategy to high PV penetration on a test feeder is however performed to illustrate the methodology.
