Investigation on the psychological health status of stroke patients who received MK-0524A treatment

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the psychological health states of the patients with stroke after received MK-0524A treatment,and proposed nursing intervention strategies.Methods 94 patients with stroke who received MK-0524A treatment were given investigations on psychological health status by using the SCL-90.Results The total score of the 94 stroke patients who received MK-0524A treatment was higher than Chinese traditional mode( 131.53 ± 13.829 vs 129.96 ± 38.76 ),there was statistically significant difference between the two groups(t =1.102,P ＜0.01 ),and the differences between the two groups on the scores of somatization,depression,hostility,terror and anxiety were also statistically significant ( P ＜ 0.01 or P ＜ 0.05 ).psychological health of patients were influenced partly by the age and profession ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusions The patients with stroke have not only the physical diseases but also some psychological disorders.Psychological health needs more attentions.Some psychological nurses and interventions should apply to these patients if desired in order to improve the somatic and psychological health and to improve the patients' quality of life.
