Abstract
Natural fiber composite materials are being developed and investigated for suitable structural applications. Various kinds of research works have been so far performed on them in order to improve their structural characteristics. In the present work, E-Glass/Jute epoxy fiber composite specimens have been tested and reported for their tensile property. Five different composite specimens have been prepared for the study with different fiber loading and lamina orders such as G/G/G/G/G/G, G/J/G/G/J/G, G/J/G/J/G/G, G/J/J/J/J/G, and J/J/J/J/J/J. Numerical analysis has been performed using ANSYS software of version 17.1. Specimens have been modeled with ASTM D 638 standard dimensions, and the loading conditions have been decided based on the experimental details. The ANSYS results have been reported and found to be in good agreement with the experimental results. The results confirmed that the tensile strength of the jute fiber composite specimens hybridized with the glass fibers was better. Also, it was obvious that the lamina order in the composite specimen influenced the tensile behavior.
