Abstract

Increased Recovery Rate of Damaged Muscle Hyung-Soon Park, Jessie S. John, and colleagues demonstrate how the combination of cyclic stretch and hypoxic conditions leads to an increased recovery rate of damaged muscle in article numer 2100465, by activating the reactive oxygen species recovery-related pathways as found in the microfluidic-based muscle damage model. Also, Hypoxia Inducible Factor 1-alpha (HIF1-α) plays a causal role in the stretch-/hypoxia-enhanced recovery.
