Abstract

Objective To investigate the current situation of career identity of nurses in large Third-grade class-A hospitals, in order to provide references to improve nurses' career identity. Methods A total of 435 clinical nurses from a certain large Third-grade class-A hospital in Tianjin were investigated with the general information questionnaire and the nurses' career identity scale by the stratified random sampling method. Results The scores of nurses' career identity were (103.40±1.79) points, which was at the middle level.Working seniority, the number of monthly night shifts, and the distance between their place of residence and hospital were the influencing factors to the nurses' career identity. Conclusions Managers should strengthen the allocation of nursing human resources, to improve the level of nurses' career identity by the scientific guidance and flexible management.
