Abstract

The primary focus of this research work is to develop epoxy based composite structure dispersed with B4C and aluminium metallic particles in order to facilitate the material to behave with enhanced stability when subjected to mechanical environment. An attempt was made with as-received B4C metallic particles and B4C augmented with Al particles as reinforcements with epoxy matrix and samples were fabricated through mechanical mixing followed by ultrasonic mixing in order ensure thorough mixing of the metallic additives. The as prepared samples were characterized for optical, mechanical and thermo-mechanical properties for ensuring the usefulness for the mechanical applications. The results of the same are tabulated and discussed which exclusively show the enhancement in the behavior of the structure positively when B4C is augmented with 5% Al particles. Further the results are comprehensively reported in this article.
