Abstract
Investigations of wake behind a hypersonic vehicle were carried out by visualizing the flowfield around the vehicle. In order to visualize the flowfield the electric discharge method was utilized. The experiments were performed by visualizing the shock shape, the stream lineCpattern), the temperature distribution, and the boundary layer. The main characteristics of the hypersonic gun tunnel used in these experiments were that the Mach number was 10 and the duration was 10 ms.
