Abstract
An algorithm for constructing a model of effective finite elements of natural curvature for the stress-strain analysis of thin composite cylindrical bending shells, including those weakened by rectangular cutouts, is given. The reliability, accuracy, and model efficiency of the considered finite element and the approximations, which it is based on, are shown by comparison with the most commonly used finite elements. Experimental data for a composite shell with rectangular cutouts are obtained and shown. The computation results obtained using the considered finite element are compared with the experimental data for a composite shell with rectangular cutouts.
