Abstract

2-mercaptobenzothiazole (2-MBT) organic single crystal was grown by using the slow evaporation method with a seeding attempt. The grown crystal was confirmed through the powdered X-ray diffraction data analysis. The transparency of the grown crystal was observed from Ultra violet near infrared (UV-NIR) studies. Mechanical properties of the grown crystal of different magnitudes (25, 50, and 100 g) were applied with a fixed interval of time. Dielectric Loss and constant were measured with different frequencies through the dielectric analysis. Third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3), nonlinear refractive index (n2), and nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) were analyzed from the third harmonic generation studies.
