Abstract
Butt joint between Al6061-Al7075 is prepared using micro SiC particles as reinforcement added on wt. % basis. On varying welding parameters i.e. at different tool speeds and feed rate while executing experiment its seen that with reinforcement the weld produced is of superior quality and no such problem was observed to take place regarding the stirring action of both Aluminium alloys incorporate SiC. The complete analysis tool showed small wear rate per pass which makes it feasible to use a single tool for carrying out the complete operation. It is observed that the weld produced at with feed rate 10 mm/minute and spindle speed of 1500 rpm and 1700 rpm respectively are prone to defects as the tensile strength of the workpieces observed to be decreased when compared to those having a feed rate of 7 mm/min.
