Abstract

The evaporation dynamics of a water droplet with an initial volume less than 2 µl from cupper substrate with a vertical orientation coating of carbon nanotubes are investigated experimentally. Cases of evaporation of sessile water droplets into open atmosphere in a wide range of the temperature difference were considered. Copper substrates were used in the experiments. One of them was coated with vertically oriented carbon nanotubes. For comparison we used one polished copper with the root mean square roughness of about 20 nm. With the help of precise drop shape analysis system, droplet evaporation was studied. We found that mean difference of evaporation droplet dynamics between two substrates is about 25 % for the substrate temperatures from 30 to 90 °C.
