Abstract

Objective To assess the knowledge level of non-respiratory physicians about pulmonary embolism (PE) in general hospital, and to provide the basis evidence for proper physician training.Methods The questionnaire investigation about PE-related knowledge in 133 non-respiratory physicians was made by sampling. Results The grasping degree of PE-related knowledge in non-respiratory physicians was lower. The average score of questionnaire was (42.38 ±15.35). There was no statistical significance on the knowledge score among residents, attending physicians, deputy directors and furtherstudy physicians. Conclusions Knowledge management regulators should strengthen continuing education of PE-related knowledge, increase awareness of PE in the doctors of general hospital. Respiratory physicians have a duty in the publicity and education of PE. Key words: Pulmonary embolism; Investigation; Knowledge
