Abstract

The article investigates the application of methods of fractal transformation and compression of videoimages that contain measurement information about various technical objects or industrial products. Such videoimages can be transmitted over wireless sensor networks or other computer networks as part of distributed control systems. The main requirement for videoimages in this case is to ensure the accuracy of the measurement information about the geometric parameters of objects and high compression ratio for improving the speed of control systems. It is established that the fractal compression method provides much more compact videoimages (a volume reduction of several hundred times) with acceptable accuracy parameters of geometric parameters, in contrast to existing methods that provide a volume reduction of 30 ... 50 times with the same accuracy.
