Abstract

A method for determining antigen-binding activity of antibodies immobilized on gold nanoparticles has been proposed. The technique has been tested for protein and low molecular weight antigens. For antibodies against an inflammatory marker, C-reactive protein, and nanoparticles with a diameter of 14 to 55 nm, the ability to bind the antigen retains from 17 to 34% of the antibodies.
