Abstract
The mechanism of hydrothermal treatment of siliceous materials is relatively complex. It depends among others on different parameters of porous structure, the process temperature and the presence of different residues in the sorbent being modified. In the previous paper [1] the influence of hydrothermal treatment on structural changes of controlled porous glasses (CPGs) has been discussed. This work deals with the adsorption properties of hydrothermally modified CPGs. The adsorption isotherms are associated with the results of thermogravimetric and isotachophoretic investigations. As was shown, the adsorption properties directly depend on temperature and duration of the modification process and are connected not only with structural rebuilding but mainly with the change of surface chemistry.
