Abstract

In this study, we developed a cadmium ion selective sensor which can detect cadmium ion in water, in the convenience of home/office. The ion selective membrane (ISM) FET sensor combines novel extended gate FET structure and cadmium ion selective membrane. With the unique structure and the methodology the sensitivity of Cd-ISFET is 71 mV/ decade [Cd2+] which is beyond ideal Nernst sensitivity and the detection limit is comparable with ICP-MS. The AC impedance measurement result is also analyzed in this research. Through the AC impedance results we can find out and investigate the mechanism of Cd-ISFET.
