Abstract

In current scenario manufacturing industries has tremendous pressure to shorten the product development life cycle. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is becoming a solution for the manufacturing of low volume product. Present study, deals with the effect of three important process parameters viz., layer thickness, raster angle and orientation on linear and radial dimension of Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) component. Gray relational analysis (GRA) is employed to find out optimum process parameter condition, which optimize both linear and radial dimension. It was observed that linear dimension had smaller IT grade as compared to the radial dimension due to triangulation error.
