Abstract
Cold formed steel members are extensively used in building construction industry, residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Cold formed steel (CFS) sections can be optimized to increase their load carrying capacity, leading to more efficient and economical structural systems (Ye et al., 2016). Buildings framed from cold formed steel members are becoming common. Significant research has been conducted on individual cold formed steel members, due to the open nature of sections torsion induces warping in the beam. This paper summarizes the research on behavior of CFS beams subject to torsion. The attention is focused on beams subject to torque, because of the transverse loads.
