Abstract
A novel CdZnTe gamma-ray detector was designed and fabricated using a multi-pair coplanar grid anode geometry. This new design consists of 4 independent coplanar grid electrode pairs surrounded by a single boundary electrode on each face of a 30 mm times30.5 mm times12 mm CdZnTe crystal, which is the largest coplanar grid CdZnTe detector ever reported. The purpose of this new large volume design is to improve the detection efficiency from previous generation coplanar grid CdZnTe detectors while maintaining the excellent energy resolution achieved. Employing the depth sensing method for electron trapping compensation, measurements of the spectral performance as a function of interaction depth are reported. In addition, measurements of the mu etauewill be reported
