Investigating the Scientometrics of the Studies Conducted in the Field of Islam
the present study investigated the status of the studies conducted in Islam’s field, employing scientometric methods. Extracted from Web of Science database, 6837 articles were surveyed for the growth rate, core journals, core authors, average citation rate, effective authors, countries’ contributions, lexical co-occurrence map, most frequent key terms, thematic domains and published formats. Ravar Matrix, USI Net and R environment were utilized to analyze the data. The findings indicated that the studies on Islam's field have had an ascending trend; studies are published more in article format, the average citation rate to the outputs in Islam's field shows a rise from 2008 to 2008 and a fall from 2008 to 2020; Christianity was the most frequent discussed subject in the studies on Islam’s field, key terms of “Islam”, Islamophobia” and “religion” were the most frequent key terms; Belhaj, Padela, and Prat are the most productive authors in the Islam's field; the journal ISLAM-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GESCHICHTE UND KULTUR DES ranked first in publishing articles on Islam; and finally in terms of country, America received the first rank in publishing the outputs on Islam's field. Some suggestions are also presented by the researchers as to the implications of the research findings.

Cross-sectional. To identify predictors of manuscripts achieving 6-year citation rates higher than the mean in spine-specific literature. An article's citation rate demonstrates its contribution to academia and its quality. Predictors of citation rates have not yet been studied in spine-specific medical literature. Three leading spine-specific journals were identified by a weighted scoring system comparing various journal metrics. Research articles published in 2014 were evaluated from the following journals: Spine, European Spine Journal, and Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine. Article features analyzed included journal of origin, number of words in article title, author count, degree of first author, conflicts of interest, quantity of contributing academic institutions, country of origin, study topic, study design, level of evidence, sample size, reference count, and citation rate. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine predictors of above average citation rate at 6 years following publication. The final analysis included 1091 articles. Spine had a significantly higher citation rate than European Spine Journal (P = 0.0008); however, no significant differences were observed between Spine and Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine. Regression analysis demonstrated that studies originating in North America (OR:1.44, 95% CI:1.01-2.01, P = 0.04), those with 6 ≥ authors (OR:1.72, 95% CI:1.29-2.30, P < 0.001), sample size >100 (P < 0.001), prospective case series (OR: 2.67, 95% CI: 1.24-5.76), and retrospective case series (OR: 1.99, 95% CI: 1.07-3.73) were independent predictors of achieving above average 6-year citation rates. Spine, European Spine Journal, and Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine had the highest 6-year citation rates of the top 10 orthopedic spine journals, with Spine being significantly higher than European Spine Journal. Studies originating in North America, those with six or more authors, sample sizes > 100, and those that are retrospective or prospective case series are independent predictors of greater citation rates at 6 years in orthopedic spine-specific medical literature.Level of Evidence: 4.

Exploration of the benefits and timing of surgical decompression in spinal cord injury (SCI) has been a research hotspot. However, despite the higher volume and increasing emphasis on quality there remains no bibliometric view on SCI and surgical decompression. In this study, we aimed to perform bibliometric analysis to reveal the core countries, affiliations, journals, authors, and developmental trends in SCI and surgical decompression across the past 50 years. Articles and reviews were retrieved from web of science core collection between 1975 and 2024. The bibliometrix package in R was used for data analysis and visualizing. A total of 8,688 documents were investigated, indicating an ascending trend in annual publications. The USA and China played as the leaders in scientific productivity. The University of Toronto led in institutional productions. Core authors, such as Michael G. Fehlings, showed high productivity, and occasional authors showed widespread interests. Core journals like Spine and Spinal Cord served as beacons in this field. The interaction of core authors and international collaboration accentuated the cross-disciplinary feature of the field. Prominent documents emphasized the clinical significance of early decompression in 24 h post SCI. Based on comprehensive bibliometric analysis and literature review, we identified the hotspots and future directions of this field: (1) further investigation into the molecular and cellular mechanisms to provide pre-clinical evidence for biological effects of early surgical decompression in SCI animal models; (2) further evaluation and validation of the optimal time window of surgical decompression based on large cohort, considering the inherent heterogeneity of subpopulations in complicated immune responses post SCI; (3) further exploration on the benefits of early decompression on the neurological, functional, and clinical outcomes in acute SCI; (4) evaluation of the optimal surgical methods and related outcomes; (5) applications of artificial intelligence-based technologies in spinal surgical decompression.

The most productive country was the United States of America (USA), followed by the United Kingdom and Australia. International authorship collaboration was evident in 57 (36.1%) studies. The average citation rate was 23.4 per study, with an average annual citation rate of 2.1.ConclusionsPublished research employing imaging to assess foot osteoarthritis has increased substantially over the past four decades. Although plain radiography remains the gold standard modality, the emergence of MRI and USI in the past two decades continues to advance knowledge and progress research in this field.

Linear regression models were used to analyse temporal trends in the use of each imaging modality over time. 158 studies were identified between 1980 and 2021. Plain radiography was the most widely used modality, followed by computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound imaging, respectively. The number of published studies increased over time for each imaging modality (all P>0.018). The most productive country was the United States of America, followed by the United Kingdom and Australia. International authorship collaboration was evident in 57 studies (36.1%). BackgroundThe city of Wrocław in Poland represents one of Central Europeans oldest capitals of science with numerous Nobel laureates. Due to a long history of political suppressions with Nazi Germany and Communism from 1933 until 1989, its scientific community was suppressed for more than half a century.MethodsThe present study assessed scientific activities in the field of social and neighbouring sciences using density equalizing mapping. On the basis of the NewQIS (New Quality and Quantity Indices in Science) platform and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) of the Web of Science database, a total of 1787 articles originating from Wrocław were identified between 1966 and 2017.ResultsIn total, 549 research collaborations of Wrocław with 96 different countries were present (30.7%). Among the 107 research areas the highest activity was found for the field of Business and Economics with n = 272 articles (average citation rate (AVR) of 12.54), followed by Psychology (n = 252 articles, AVR = 9.06), Psychiatry (n = 205 articles, AVR = 4.74) and Public, Environmental and Occupational Health (n = 145 articles, AVR = 7.96). The highest AVR was found for Operations Research (25.36 with n = 87 articles). Density equalizing mapping procedures revealed a global pattern of social sciences research collaborations with scientists from Germany, the UK and the US as the primary cooperating partner of Wrocław. The different countries had major differences in the area of research collaborations.ConclusionsThis is the first study that depicts the global network of Wrocław scientific activities in the field of social sciences. The exorbitant increase in research activity from 2006 onwards can lead to the assumption that Wrocław social sciences encounter a fruitful future.

To conduct a bibliometric analysis, several researchers retrieve publications from Scopus or/and Web of Science (WOS) databases. When these scholars consider both Scopus and WOS databases, they mostly make two bibliometric analysis: one from Scopus database and the other from WOS database. A few researchers merge the two databases to conduct a single analysis, but they do not specify how they did it. This paper aims to advance the bibliometric analysis by addressing two points. First, this research claims that making a bibliometric analysis that takes information from Scopus or/and separately from WOS cannot give a broader view of knowledge and tendencies in a field. To prove this claim, we retrieve papers from Scopus and WOS databases to make a bibliometric analysis of sales force literature that covers from 1912 to 2019. Results show that there are many disparities between WOS and merged database, and between this latter and WOS database regarding bibliometric analyses, especially among primary productive authors, the most influential papers, and keyword occurrences. Second, this research proposes a four-step procedure that merges these two databases to allow more reliable bibliometric analyses. This procedure was explicitly shown by using the bibliometric analysis of sales force literature during 1912–2019.

The discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) has revealed a new level in gene expression post-transcriptional control. Several studies have been published to date looking at the relationship between miRNAs and viral (swine flu, HIV, and hepatitis B) or bacterial infections. We conducted a bibliometric evaluation of the existing literature on miRNAs in the infectious disease research area. The major purpose of this study was to investigate the significance of publications and identify research developments and clusters using bibliometric methods. Data was obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The titles, document types, publication years, authors, affiliations, keywords, publishing journals, abstracts of each document, and citations within the WoS database were saved as TXT files and retrieved into Microsoft Office Excel 2019. Data for this investigation was obtained from the WoS database on 10 April 2022. The WoS database's Results Analysis and Citation Report were used to analyze the number of publications from various viewpoints, such as years, journals, and authors. To visualize country collaboration networks and keywords we used the VOSviewer software version 1.6.18 for Microsoft Windows. We found 623 documents of which 251 (40.3%) were articles. All the publications were published in English. The first document was published in 2007, and the maximum number of documents was published in 2021. The number of documents has been increasing since 2019. China dominated the scientific production with 398 (63.9%) publications. The top five leading scientifically productive countries on this topic also included the USA (n = 100; 16.1%), Japan (n = 24; 3.9%), Germany (n = 20; 3.2%), and Italy (n = 17; 2.7%). The documents originating from China were cited 5705 times (an average of 14.3/document). The documents originating from the USA were cited 2190 times (an average of 21.9/document). Since 2019, the number of studies on miRNA in infectious illnesses has steadily increased. China and the USA have made tremendous contributions to this field's study. We discovered several deregulated miRNAs, including miR-122, miR-133a, miR-146, miR-155, and miR-370, were described in the context of sepsis and infection using bibliometric methods. Understanding these crucial factors, as well as how research is performed and directed, might lead to a new perspective in the creation of new strategies to manage variable infections in the coming years.

Introduction: Depression is known as a mental disability. In recent years, interest in spirituality as a factor in decreasing depression symptoms has increased. The current study evaluated scientific articles on spirituality and depression indexed in the Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science (WoS) databases. Methods: This bibliometric review collected all articles on the subject of spirituality and depression published through 2016 from the Scopus, PubMed, and WoS databases. The citation counting period was until 13 September 2017. Data on the yearly trend, top-cited articles, most frequently cited journals, article type, multi-author collaboration, and international collaboration was collected from both articles from Iran and other countries. Results: A total of 516 documents published by the end of 2016 were retrieved from the Scopus, PubMed, and WoS databases. The type of article most published was original article (355 (68.8%) articles). The findings showed that the number of documents increased from 1 document in 1932 to 55 documents in 2016. Authors from the USA have produced approximately 60% of the documents published on this matter in the three searched databases, while Iran ranks second with 5.8% (32 documents) of the scientific articles published by the end of 2016. In these 516 articles, multi-author collaboration and international collaboration accounted for 80.7% and 10.6% of articles, respectively. The average number of citations per paper was 19.8 (H-index=47) and 14.6 (H-index=42) in the Scopus and WoS databases, respectively. These rates for Iranian articles were 2.9 (H-index=6) and 0.9 (H-index=3), respectively. Only 4 Iranian papers had been cited between 7 to 15 times; all other Iranian articles had been cited fewer than 4 times. Conclusions: Iran has a low number of articles on spirituality and depression in the international indexes. As a religious and ideological country, Iran needs to increase its efforts to extend its spiritual and religious ideas on the international level. Establishing effective research networks that include other universities or countries and encouraging researchers and journals to focus on hot topics and international indexes are two approaches to managing future research in Iran.

This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications on culinary arts indexed in the Web of Science (WOS) database using the VOSviewer programme. In this context, bibliometric analysis method was utilized in the study. Within the context of the study, co-authorship analysis, analyses of keywords used by authors, analyses of citations to authors, institutions, and countries, bibliographic matching analyses of publications, authors, institutions, and countries, and co-citation analysis of authors were performed on data obtained from the Web of Science database. Network and density maps of the analysis results were drawn. According to the outcomes obtained in the research, it was ascertained that two groups of seven people cooperating in terms of joint publications were the groups with the highest number of members, the keyword ‘culinary arts’ was used the most by the authors, certain authors, institutions, and countries ranked first in terms of the number of publications and citations, and Kokoszko and Lee were the authors with the highest number of co-citations. Since there is no bibliometric research on publications with the title “culinary arts” indexed in the Web of Science database, the outcomes of this study have the potential to serve as an important reference for future research and to contribute to the literature.

Abstract. Considering research on rehabilitation and rehabilitation potential in modern medical and psychological literature from the leading databases reduces subjectivity when analyzing the relevance of scientific issues. The results obtained will allow predicting the further advancement of scientific knowledge on rehabilitation and rehabilitation potential. Materials and methods. The criterion for inclusion in the review was scientific data published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and lack of repetition of data from the same scientific papers by the same authors. Results. When searching for the word “rehabilitation” over the past 10 years, 3685 works were found in the Web of Science database, and 36332 publications were found in the eLibrary national database. A search for the keyword “rehabilitation potential” in the Web of Science database using inclusion/exclusion criteria revealed 3569 published works while a comparable search query in the domestic database identified 786 works. When comparing the Web of Science and eLibrary databases, similarities and differences were revealed in relation to the use of the concepts of “rehabilitation” and “rehabilitation potential”. The “Neurology” direction occupies a leading position in both databases, “Rehabilitation” as a separate direction is mostly studied abroad, and psychological assistance closes the top three in the Web of Science database. Mental health rehabilitation issues are more commonly presented in eLibrary. Conclusion. The development and publication of studies on rehabilitation potential is more active when it comes to patient-oriented or non-medical models of rehabilitation. Verification of this assumption may be the subject of further research.

This study was conducted to perform a bibliometric analysis of research in the field of green accounting. In this context, publications indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database were examined. As of March 30, 2024, a search was conducted in the WoS database using the keyword “green accounting”, with all WoS Core Collection criteria selected. The search results revealed no studies related to green accounting prior to 1992, while 250 studies were identified between 1992 and 2024. The highest number of publications was recorded in 2013. Among the analyzed studies, economics was found to be the most prominent research field, encompassing 118 publications. In terms of country-based contributions, the United States led the field with 61 studies. The World Bank was identified as the institution contributing the most to green accounting research. Additionally, Nicholas Z. Muller and Robert Mendelsohn were determined to be the most highly cited authors in the field. Furthermore, the study conducted co-authorship, institutional collaboration, and country collaboration network analyses, along with keyword mapping, bibliographic coupling of texts, and co-citation analysis of authors. Based on these analyses, visual mappings were created, and the discussion and conclusions were presented.

The Holy Quran, hadiths, and fiqh texts are among the primary and secondary sources that are being used to alter the Islamic economic and financial system in accordance with contemporary economic changes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the qualitative output in the field from a bibliometric perspective by examining the academic studies that cover the concept of 'hadith' and are indexed in the economics and finance categories of the Web of Science (WOS) database. As part of the study, a comprehensive literature review, known as a bibliometric mapping analysis, was conducted. The study conducted a bibliometric analysis of all studies that include the term hadith in the WOS database between 1982/01-2023/07 and the studies that fall into the WOS categories (economics, business, business finance). In addition, a content analysis of the articles containing the term hadith in the Web of Science (WOS) database was carried out. As part of the study, the data were categorized using VOSviewer (1.6.18). As a result of the study, it was found that there are a majority of studies that make conceptual evaluations in the field of Hadith and these studies are concentrated on the theological basis. It was found that there are very few studies in the economic and financial category of the Hadith concept and that there is a gap in this area. Therefore, the results of this study will shed light on future studies.

It was purposed in this study to reveal the trend in the relevant field by making a bibliometric evaluation of the educational research articles published on botanic gardens, national parks, and natural monuments in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Within the scope of quantitative methodology, the bibliometrics was applied in the study. The data were taken from the WoS database generated by Clarivate Analytics. The study data covered the years between 1975 and 2020. Bibliometric analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the data. 44,138 records related to the study subject were obtained in the WoS database, and 98 of them were determined in the category of educational research. Analyses were conducted on 58 articles in the category of educational research. As a result of the analyses, it was observed that half of the articles were published in the last 5 years. It was also concluded that the publication language of the articles was predominantly English and that the researchers working in the United States provided the highest contribution to the related literature by producing 20 articles. In addition, it was determined that the most effective journals related to the study subject were “Environmental Education Research” and “Journal of Environmental Education”. A total of 180 different keywords were included in the analyzed articles, and the most used ones were “environmental education” and “botanic garden”. It was also concluded that 1885 different publications, 1596 authors, and 1309 sources were cited in the articles examined within this research. The articles in the WoS database were examined in this study, and it is important to carry out similar studies in different publication types and databases in terms of revealing the trend in this subject.
