Abstract

The work proposed in this paper investigates the early death of the wireless sensor node owing to the limitations of the electrochemistry properties of the battery. Further, we studied the impact of the detection node parameters on the battery life of the detection node. Better choices for the sampling interval and the transmission power are found to mitigate the shortened lifetime of the battery. With the above values, the observed enhancement in the sensor node lifetime is around 35.14%.
