Abstract

This study aimed to identify Tafseer Al-Quran (Interpretation of the Qur’an) teaching strategy among Islamic Education teachers. The study was design using quantitative survey method in collecting data which involved 254 form four students and 34 Islamic Education teachers. This study involved five National Religious Secondary Schools (SMKA) in Sabah. The data were analysed descriptively using mean, standard deviation and percentage. The findings indicated medium high interpretation level for tafseer teaching practice from the aspects of teaching preparation, teaching development and teaching closing. It is hope that the finding of this study will assist the Ministry of Education, schools and other learning institution in arranging and developing programmes relevant to the needs of the al-Quran teacher in planning a more efficient Quranic teaching to enhance the appreciation of al-Quran among students.
