Abstract
This paper explores using satellite gravity gradiometry to detect underground targets. It discusses measured signals including target body, terrain interference, and global background signals. Formulas and principles for calculating these signals are provided. Simulation results show that a 5 million cubic meter sphere generates a gravity gradient signal of to at 200 km altitude. Terrain interference signals are around for a 100 km × 100 km area. The paper presents a parametric inversion method based on full tensor gravity gradient signals for target detection. Inversion experiments consider noise and terrain deduction, with 100 iterations for error analysis.
