Abstract

A book creation requires several factors, such as: an idea, a writer, an illustrator, a publisher, creativity, invention and fantasy; all these factors are available, free and ready to be gathered and become storybooks in an Early Childhood classroom. By focusing on these characteristics, this article aims to report the creation of a collective book in a class of children aged between 4 and 5 years old. The research methodology is based on the presuppositions of action research, in which the researcher himself takes the fieldwork. The work starts with the importance of reading enjoyment in Child Education, followed by a pedagogical practice – the creation of a storybook – developed based on the knowledge and experiences of young children. The realization of the book constructed by the students reaffirms the importance of encouraging daily reading and writing, as well what children have to say about the world around them, allowing spontaneous and consistent with the children's imagination creations.
