Abstract
Hydrogen is well-known as an energy source for uses ranging from small-scale off-grid power production to large-scale chemical energy exports. Since hydrogen is not naturally available in its pure form, evaluating the various techniques for hydrogen production is essential. Furthermore, hydrogen utilization and storage are major topics that have gained attention in recent years. Although the hydrogen deployment as a source energy has long been envisaged, it has not been industrially implemented because of the unavailability of cost-effective hydrogen production and conversion technology. This chapter discusses the properties of hydrogen, various methods of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, a concise explanation of the use of hydrogen and the significance of safety and economy of hydrogen.
