Abstract
AbstractIntravenous pyogenic granuloma (IVPG) represents a subset of lobular capillary haemangioma. The preoperative diagnosis is complex due to the absence of distinct features specific to a particular diagnosis in the clinical presentation. Physical examination findings closely mimic those of other soft tissue growths. Ultrasound should be the preferred modality for preoperative diagnostic imaging, as the lesion typically exhibits consistent ultrasound characteristics. This knowledge is imperative for an accurate and timely diagnosis. This case report presents a histologically confirmed IVPG localised in the right external jugular vein, which has been present for 2 years and is progressively enlarging.
