Abstract
A biloma is described as an encapsulated collection of intra- or extrahepatic bile related to trauma mechanisms at the level of the biliary tree. Its etiological origin is a traumatic injury following biliary or hepatic surgery, which can cause iatrogenic conditions. In some cases, it can resolve spontaneously, but this is very uncommon. Treatment focuses on performing percutaneous drainage, endoscopy, and should be associated with antibiotics according to the patient's requirements; in some cases, the placement of a stent will be necessary. It is important to note that if the biloma is associated with an infectious condition, it must be drained immediately.
