Abstract

This work is part of a trilogy of interviews dedicated to the theme of fatherhood today. The goal is to propose an analysis of the metamorphosis of today’s symbolic figure of the father (from a psychoanalytic, historical, political, aesthetic point of view) through the comparison between important Italian analysts, belonging to different analytical schools. The interview with Simona Argentieri, analyst, Ordinary and Didactical Member of the Italian Association of Psychoanalysis and the International Psycho-Analytical Association, closes this trilogy by providing a rich theoretical analysis, including aesthetic considerations (in particular, about cinema and literature). Her thoughts focuse mainly on positive responses to the contemporary crisis of the traditional paternal figure.
