Abstract

In this analysis of the relationships among organizational structure, per sonality, and behavior, the author discusses the mediating functions of cognitive orientations and affective responses to roles, and relates these to the feedback mechanisms of reference-group norms and reward sys tems. Mr. Abbott is head professor of educational administration, super vision and guidance at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama.
