Abstract

Summary Rhizobium strain R-1 has shown more significant increase in all the growth characteristics of moong (Vigna radiata L.) than other strains. Infection with Meloidogyne incognita significantly reduced the effect of all the strains of Rhizobium. The multiplication of M. incognita in root and soil was significantly higher when the seeds were inoculated with strain R-1, which might be due to better development of root and plant top because of more supply of fixed nitrogen.
