Abstract

Long series of continuous observations of ioncyclotron waves in 0.2–5.0 Hz range in the Earth’s magnetosphere detected on the Earth surface in the form of geomagnetic pulsations Pc1 were the basis for studies of cyclic variations of their activity. Comparison of the peculiarities of the cyclic variation of Pc1with the data of direct measurements of the solarwind parameters allowed one to obtain new results related to the role of the interplanetary medium in the processes of generation of ion-cyclotron waves in the Earth’s magnetosphere.
