Abstract

Complexing of N-organosiloxane poly-2-methyl-5-vinyl pyridiniums with polyacrlic acid has been studied by potentiometric and turbidimetric titration and sedimentation velocity. The hydrodynamic properties of aqueous solutions of interpolyelectrolyte complexes of varied composition have been investigated revealing for the non-stoichiometric complexes concentration dependence of reduced viscosity typical of polyelectrolytes while the stoichiometric adducts consisting of non-stoichimetric complexes and polyacrylic acid in water display properties characteristic of polyampholytes.
