Abstract

The problem solution of two-dimensional signal interpolation on the reference plane in the spatial domain is considered. The difference between the interpolation and approximation problems of two-dimensional discrete signals is shown. The mathematical apparatus of matrix and algebraic descriptions of two-dimensional discrete signals in the spatial and spatial-frequency domain is given. The methods of interpolation of real and complex discrete two-dimensional signals in the spatial domain are developed. The validity, accuracy, and efficiency of the proposed interpolation algorithms are illustrated. The results of experimental study using two-dimensional discrete signal model are presented.
