Abstract

The study aims to explore the differences in preparatory class children's self-esteem and self-efficacy according to the relationships between their parents. Participants in the study were 115 children, 64 boys and 51 girls, aged 6 - 7 years (M=6.48, SD=0.52) from 6 Kindergartens in Bucharest and Târgu Jiu, Romania and 115 adult female (children's mothers), aged 24 to 46 years (M=34.34, SD=4.55). In order to collect the data, 4 self-rating questionnaires were used, 2 completed by children, under teachers’ control and 2 completed by children's mothers.
