Abstract

This publication examines the history and current status of teaching in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in several different countries from around the world. It presents studies of the profiles of teachers and lecturers and their educational practices in the following countries: Germany, Brazil, Denmark, China, France, Japan, Norway, Russia, Turkey, the UK and the USA. Each chapter covers the historical development of the TVET profession for that country, the current situation and teacher education arrangements.
