Abstract

The paper summarizes international experiences about general practice education.General practice is usually an independent discipline in higher medical education institutions.There are no major differentiations for medical undergraduates and all of them are required to take some general practice courses.Medical undergraduate education,postgraduate education,and continued education are the three necessary stages for the training of general doctors.Furthermore,general practitioners are required to receive life-long continued education.Based on the international experiences,the authors put forward several implications for developing general practice education in China.
