Abstract

The international chamber of commerce (ICC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) which represents the interests of its membership broadly, firms of all sizes from a wide variety of sectors at the and international levels. The ICC owes its origins the depredations of the First World War and the determination of leading businessmen in Europe and the US break the deadlock over the reparations issue that dominated the early post-war years. Membership of the ICC within a committee is open both national and local organisations which are truly representative of the business and professional interests of their members. The central objective of the ICC is to further the development of an open world economy with the firm conviction that international commercial exchanges are conducive both greater global prosperity and peace among nations.
