Abstract
In this work, innovative electrochemical methods have been utilized to minimize the internal surface roughness of Inconel 625 laser powder-bed fusion (LPBF) additively manufactured (AM) parts with variable geometries as the performance of many parts depend on it. Initially, the effect of electropolishing time on external surface roughness and thickness loss was investigated. Subsequently, electropolished internal structures were studied and the results showed an average of 80% improvement in roughness. The quick and effective surface enhancement methodology proposed in this research can be applied to improve the performance of AM parts with functional internal and external surfaces.
