Abstract
Abstract Intermittent intensity clutter may severely contaminate the signal detection and identification for wind spectral of Wind profiler radar. In order to remove such clutter, a method is proposed which is based on two types of joint time-frequency representation Wigner-Ville distribution(WVD) and Fractional Fourier transform(FrFT). The frequency-modulated rate of clutter is estimated using WVD transform, then the clutter can be removed by making use of energy concentration property of clutter in fractional Fourier frequency domain, and finally the atmospheric signal can be reconstructed after removing the clutter. The method reduces the clutter detection from two-dimensional to mere one-dimensional search, which greatly reduces the computational complexity. The principle and simulation also show that the method is valid.
