Small-scale structures ("cloudlets") appear in two of these objects; the typical angular diameter of the cloudlets is about 18 min of arc. The rms internal velocity dispersion of the cloudlets, 2.2 km/sec, implies a kinetic temperature is less than 5905K; if at 1 kpc distance, the typical mass is 30 solar masses, the typical density is 6 atoms/cm2, and the typical diameter 7 pc. High- velocity hydrogen can be resolved into four components of decreasing scale size: the general flow itself; concentrations, about 20 in diameter; clouds, the objects found above, several degrees in diameter; and cloudlets. The clouds, and the cloudlets, may be the result of contraction from the Galactic corona due to thermal instability; their approach velocities may result from acceleration by the z component of the Galactic gravitational field. The dynamics of a simple model are followed crudely to illustrate these points.
