Abstract

Core-shell magnetoelectric nanocomposite, comprising of spinel cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) core and perovskites barium titanate (BaTiO3) shell prepared by hydrothermal method have been reported and analyzed in this research. High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) have been performed for morphological interface studies to calculate the lattice strain on the shell while being deposited on the core. Comparison have been done on the theoretical and experimental lattice mismatch between core and shell interfaces. Strain and disinclination in the core-shell interfaces have been minutely analyzed. A heterostructured with such a uniform deposition of nanoscale perovskite layer on spinel nanostructure, with high expected lattice mismatch have never been reported.
