Abstract

Projections for aeronautical development in the near future emphasize strong dynamic interactions among aircraft technical disciplines and a promise of dynamic systems integration as a central feature in the creation of future aircraft. This paper examines these trends using two aircraft types as examples. The first example is a large helicopter that exhibits an interacting array of structural, rotor dynamic, control system and human pilot dynamics. The second example is a hypersonic aircraft, such as the National AeroSpace Plane.
