Abstract

Objective. To determine the influence of an educational intervention on pharmacy students' intercultural disposition and perceived communication competence. Methods. The relationship between intercultural disposition and the intercultural communication competence of pharmacy students was assessed using a brief educational intervention in the form of a role-play and a pretest-posttest experimental design. Results. There was a strong correlation between intercultural disposition and intercultural communication competence (p 0.01). Among the 4 dimensions of intercultural disposition, attributional complexity was the only factor that moderated the effect of the intervention on pharmacy students' communication competence.
