Abstract

Abstract Effects of the surface electric charge of γ-Fe 2 O 3 particles are used to modify the aggregation state of the particles in aqueous sols, to induce surface complexation in flocs, and to produce organosols. Investigations by Mossbauer spectroscopy show the occurrence of different regimes of inter-particle magnetic interactions.
