Abstract

The present work considers the interaction of plane waves with a conductive half-sheet at the boundary of left- and right-handed media. The shadow boundary shifts toward the lower surface of the half-plane because of the anomalous refraction property of left-handed medium. For this reason, the diffracted fields are modified slightly by dividing into its subfields in order to satisfy the boundary conditions. The uniform version of fields is obtained and the results are plotted and discussed for different sets of parameters.
