Abstract
The measured intensity scintillations of an optical wave in the turbulent atmosphere depend strongly on the coherence properties of the source. In this paper we obtain results for the intensity variance in a weakly turbulent medium for the case when the source is spatially incoherent, but has an arbitrary degree of temporal coherence.
