Abstract

The authors put forward and comment on two strategies to assess the wind chill effect. The first strategy is centered around the fuzzy set theory and involves a fuzzy system to determine the optimal value for lowering the perceived temperature. The second strategy requires the design of an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference system. The scholars did a series of computer experiments to confirm both strategies. They calculate the findings of Mean Absolute Error, Root Mean Square Error and Symmetric Mean Absolute Percentage Error and quote them in the paper. The researchers make the case of the second strategy as the most appropriate to assess the wind chill effect. They indicate optimal parameters of adaptive network-based fuzzy system. In particular, they assume a list of the best membership functions. They also modify their calculations to ensure the hybrid learning method being available and the linear coefficients method for generating output terms of a linguistic variable.
