Abstract
The Institute of Cybernetics of the Estonian Academy of Sciences is a centre for research in intelligent software, and applications of AI in engineering. One goal of the research is to develop intelligent software environments and expert system shells for workstations and personal computers which will be easy to use for engineering problems. A set of program packages has been developed for mechanical engineering as well as for electronics, using intelligent software systems MicroPRIZ and MicroEXPERT.
