Abstract

Abstract This article describes the use of a microprocessor to control Computer Instrumentation's Series 4/70 flatbed digital graph plotter. It covers both the hardware interface with the plotter and the firmware which controls the actual plotting. It describes how the firmware analyses the various user-controlled functions, and also how it interprets the high-level input language used to describe the plots, and converts these commands into actual pen movement.
